Tamales are a food that is not only from a single country, but we can find them in many countries, such as Bolivia, Mexico, Colombia, Chile, etc. As they are present in several countries, their ingredients and way of preparing them are different.
The trick to this recipe lies in the quality of the food that you are going to cook and include in your tamales and in the way you mix them. They have traditionally been prepared with banana leaves. Today we bring you one of the richest ways to prepare them.

Elaboration
First, you have to prepare the masa for the tamales, in a large bowl put 3 large cups of water, and add a little salt (1 tablespoon). Now is the time to gradually add flour corn and mix it well until smooth. This is very important since it must be a soft dough to be able to mold it.

Once the dough is smooth, it is time to add the two cups of chicken broth and the 25 grams of baking powder. Reservation.

To prepare the sauce for our homemade tamale, put the water to heat in a pot. Also add the green tomatoes, garlic, and the two onions to cook for 10 minutes . When the ingredients are cooked, take them out and run them through the blender to get the sauce.
In another pot, put a good drizzle of extra virgin olive oil and put it over medium heat, add the sauce and stir for 5 minutes. Cut the breast into very small pieces and fry it in a frying pan with a drizzle of oil and a pinch of salt.

Now is the time to assemble the homemade tamale, take a banana leaf, add two tablespoons of the dough that you prepared at the beginning and spread it on the sheet, now add a tablespoon of the sauce and another of chicken. The most important thing is that you tie the leaf well so that the mixture does not come out, this can be done with a string of thread, tying the homemade tamale very tight.

Prepare a pot with water and bring it to a boil, once the water is boiling, introduce each homemade tamale little by little, they should cook for approximately 45-50 minutes. After that time take them out and drain them on an absorbent paper and you’re done. Our homemade stuffed tamales are here!
