Orkut Chat

When you open the Orkut chat box, you’ll see that you can chat with a friend, or you can join one of the chat rooms. These two buttons will let you toggle between friends and rooms. Friend chat has already been covered in a separate video, so here, we’re just going to concentrate on the rooms. Clicking room “Rooms” will show you the rooms you can choose from. If you’re not at a message board; for instance, you’re in your control panel or someone’s profile, the only option you’ll see will be Run board-wide chat (RB-wide), which any Orkut Chat member can participate in.

Orkut Chat Rooms Without Registration

To join an Orkut chat room that’s connected with a message board, you need to go to that chatrooms. Here, I’m just going to use one of my test boards to demonstrate this. Opening the Orkut chatbox again, you can see that there are now two rooms to choose from. Now, before we go any further, here’s a little something to help you understand what’s what. Think of Run board chat as a building, that contains rooms for various groups. You can have support groups car enthusiast groups, political discussion groups, Bible discussion groups, hobby groups, or whatever kind of group you came here to join. Orkut Chat-wide chat is like the lobby. You can chat in the Orkut lobby, but if you want to chat with only members of a certain group, you need to enter that room.

Orkut Chat Community

Let’s go ahead and enter in Orkut Chat room that’s connected with the test board. At the top, you’ll see who’s in the room. Right now, it’s just me. When someone else enters, you’ll see their name at the top, and it will also announce here when someone arrives or leaves the room. To chat, click inside the box at the bottom, type in your message, and press the [enter] key on your computer’s keyboard. Your message will appear here, along with everyone else’s.

If you want to leave the Orkut Chat room, don’t just minimize it, because as long as you’re at the board, (or anywhere on Run board, if you’re in Orkut Chat-wide chat) it will look to other people as though you’re still in the room. Instead, you should click on this icon to completely exit the room. Although I’ve already covered these controls in the friend chat video, I’m going to point out a couple of them here, too. The down arrow will minimize the chatbox.

Join Our Network And Make New Friends

That way, if you’re reading a topic and want to chat live at the same time, you can toggle back and forth. Clicking on the smiley will bring up clickable smileys that you can insert into your chat messages. This icon will lead you to a help topic about the Orkut chat feature. For a full rundown on all these controls, you can check out the video dedicated to one on one friend chat, or read the relevant topic at the Orkut Chat Knowledge Base. The address is Orkut chat.com, you can click on the “Help” link in the black navigation bar on any page of the main Orkut Chat site. That’s it for today, folks. Thank you for choosing Orkut Chat.

Orkut Chat options and interface modified significantly with time. Initially, every member could turn into a fan of any of the buddies of their record and in addition consider whether their good friend is “Trustworthy”, “Cool”, “Sexy” on a scale of 1 to 30 which was aggregated as a share. Unlike Facebook, the place one can only view profile details of individuals in their community, Orkut chat initially allowed anybody to go to everyone’s profile until a possible visitor was on an individual’s “Ignore List” (this function was finally modified in order that users might select between displaying their profile to all networks or specified ones). Each member was also capable of customizing their profile preferences and limit info that appears on their profile from their friends and/or others. Another function was that any member can add another member on Orkut to his/her “Crush List”.

Chat With New Users

When a user logged in, they noticed the individuals of their friends record within the order of their login to the site, the first person being the latest one to take action. Orkut’s opponents have been different social networking websites together with Myspace and Facebook. the social network was an extra direct competitor, as it allowed for the creation of social networks just like Orkut’s “communities”.

An Orkut user was also ready to add videos to their profile from both YouTube or Google Video with the extra choice of making either restricted or unrestricted polls for polling a community of users. There was at one point a choice to combine Orkut Chat room with Orkut, enabling chat and file sharing. Similar to Facebook, users might additionally use a “like” button to share interests with friends. Users could also change their interface from a variety of colorful themes in the library. Themes are also available for the chat rooms.
